CLMA Members

BECOME A MEMBER

The mission of the Contact Lens Manufacturers Association is to increase awareness and utilization of custom manufactured contact lenses.

Membership Benefits

To help you, and each of us, CLMA membership provides:

1) Annual meeting registration at a rate substantially lower than non-member rates.

2) The CLMA's newsletter keeps you informed all year long on activities within both the Association and the industry.

3) Participation in the field test for the Seal of Excellence is open to all CLMA members and is voluntary. We see this award process as a requisite for the high standards of quality needed for successful GP (oxygen permeable) contact lens fitting. "Continued quality assessment of our products not only is a requirement for our Association's 'Good Manufacturers' Practice' doctrine, but also defines the role our industry continues to model for superior quality, worldwide," states Committee Chairman Quido Cappelli. The 2005-2006 Seal of Excellence testing was conducted in 2004.

4) The GP Lens Institute, an educational arm of the CLMA, promotes the benefits of GP (oxygen permeable) Contact Lenses directly to the practitioner and the consumer. The list of educational materials is growing every month and provides marketing tools for all our members at minimum or no additional cost. Unless you have your own marketing department staffed by experts, these tools alone are worth every penny of your dues dollars.

5) The CLMA has built a solid record of success in its work to strengthen its members' impact on the shaping of vital national policies, laws and regulations that affect the contact lens industry.

6) CLMA maintains that each member has a pivotal say in everything CLMA does. CLMA consistently succeeds because the combined voice and resources of its members assure its ability to accomplish what no single member could accomplish alone.

7) The second GP Consultants Seminar was held in November 1-3, 2002 in Houston, Texas. This one-and-a-half-day Seminar is free to all member companies.

8) CLMA recently established an affiliation with CommLink, a nationwide telecommunication consulting firm. We have asked CommLink to assist our members with the evaluation of their telephone service requirements from both a cost and a quality standpoint. These services include local telephone service, long distance, high speed data transmission, etc.

9) Educational materials on custom contact lenses are marketed to practitioners as well as consumers. For more information on these materials and other educational activities, please visit these web sites:
