Tell us about your company — what you do, who you serve, and what makes you unique in the industry.
Our company specializes in the manufacture of ultra-precision diamond tools used to make a wide variety of optical parts. This includes applications for military, medical, automotive and consumer products. We’re focused on quality, service and value. Our team of technicians and engineers work to find the best solution for the individual needs of our worldwide client base.
What inspired the founding of your company, and how has that vision evolved?
The company was formed over 45 years ago by two gentleman who had made tools for the jewelry industry. As the direct lathing of optical parts evolved, so did the technical requirements of the diamond tools. We are constantly investing in new technology that will allow us to stay on the “cutting edge” and provide the best products.
What should our members know about your team and the talent that powers your work?
Our 45 team members have many years of experience in the field of diamond tool design and manufacturing. This vast collective knowledge is what sets us apart from others in the industry.
Tell us something that you wish more people in the industry knew about your company.
Contact lens and IOL’s are an extremely important part of our customer base. We are an OEM supplier to one of the worlds largest manufacturers of lathes for optical machining.
Recently, we designed and now supply a special diamond insert to make scleral lenses and we are always willing to work with our customers on special projects.
Why did you join CLMA, and how has being a member impacted your business or outlook on the industry?
Our goal was to learn about about the industry and the specific needs of lab operations. Being a member keeps us up to date on market trends and emerging technologies.
